Refund Policy

1 Overview

UniverseByte offers refunds for course enrollments and certain services under specific conditions outlined in this policy. Our goal is to be fair, transparent, and student-friendly while maintaining the sustainability of our programs.

This policy applies to all paid programs offered by UniverseByte including but not limited to:

• Full Stack Web Development
• Python Programming
• Java Development
• Data Science & AI
• Cloud Computing
• DevOps Engineering
• Internship Programs
• Web Development Services

2 Refund Window

Refund eligibility is determined from the date of your first class session or the date your course access was granted — whichever comes first.

3 Course Refund Eligibility

To be eligible for a refund, all of the following conditions must be met:

• The refund request is submitted within the applicable refund window
• The student has not completed more than 20% of the course content
• The student has not received a course completion certificate
• The refund request is submitted via email to info@universebyte.in with the reason for cancellation
• The enrollment fee / registration fee (if separately charged) is non-refundable in all cases

Circumstances That May Qualify for an Exception

UniverseByte may consider refund requests outside the standard window in the following exceptional cases (evaluated on a case-by-case basis):

• Serious medical emergency with supporting documentation
• Significant course delivery issues on our part (e.g., instructor unavailability for more than 2 weeks)
• Technical issues preventing course access for more than 7 consecutive days, reported and unresolved by us

4 Refund Schedule

5 Non-Refundable Items

The following are strictly non-refundable under all circumstances:

• Registration / Enrollment Fee: Any one-time registration fee charged at the time of enrollment
• Certification Fee: Fees paid for course completion certificates
• Study Material Fee: Any physical or digital materials already provided
• Workshops & Bootcamps: One-day or short-duration intensive programs once attended
• Placement Assistance Fee: If separately charged, once the service has been initiated
• Courses completed over 20%: As determined by our LMS or attendance records

6 Web Development Services

For custom web development and design projects, the following refund terms apply:

6.1 Project Deposits

An initial deposit (typically 25–50% of the total project cost) is required to begin work. Deposits are non-refundable once the project has commenced, as they cover planning, design, and initial development time.

6.2 Milestone Payments

For projects broken into milestones, each milestone payment is non-refundable once the deliverable for that milestone has been approved by the client.

6.3 Project Cancellation

If a client wishes to cancel a project:

• Before any work begins: Full refund of any advance paid (excluding the non-refundable deposit)
• After work has begun: Client is billed for work completed to date at our hourly rate; any excess is refunded
• After final delivery: No refund applicable

7 How to Request a Refund

To initiate a refund request, follow these steps:

1. Send an email to info@universebyte.in with the subject line: "Refund Request — [Your Full Name] — [Course Name]"
2. Include the following in your email:
   • Full name and registered email address
   • Course or service name
   • Enrollment / payment date
   • Payment receipt or transaction ID
   • Reason for requesting a refund
   • Bank account details for refund transfer (if applicable)
3. Our team will acknowledge your request within 2 business days
4. After review, we will communicate the refund decision within 5 business days

8 Refund Processing Time

Once a refund is approved:

• Bank Transfer / NEFT / IMPS: 7–10 business days
• UPI: 3–5 business days
• Original Payment Method: Timing depends on your bank's processing time (typically 5–15 business days)

Refunds are processed to the original payment method used during enrollment. If the original method is unavailable, we will process the refund via bank transfer using the details you provide.

9 Installment Plans

If you enrolled using an installment plan:

• Only the amount already paid at the time of the refund request is eligible for refund (subject to the schedule in Section 4)
• Future installments will be cancelled upon approval of the refund
• Any missed installment payments that are overdue must be cleared before a refund can be processed

10 Course Cancellation by UniverseByte

In the rare event that UniverseByte cancels a course or program before it begins, enrolled students will receive:

• Full refund of all fees paid, processed within 10 business days, OR
• The option to transfer enrollment to the next available batch of the same course at no extra cost

If a course is discontinued mid-way due to circumstances beyond our control, we will offer:

• A pro-rata refund for the remaining portion of the course, OR
• An alternate course of equivalent value as agreed upon with the student

11 Dispute Resolution

If you are not satisfied with the outcome of your refund request, you may escalate the matter:

1. Email our management team at info@universebyte.in with subject: "Refund Dispute — [Your Name]"
2. We will conduct an internal review and respond within 10 business days
3. If the dispute remains unresolved, both parties agree to attempt resolution through mediation before resorting to legal proceedings

All disputes are governed by the laws of India and subject to the jurisdiction of Indian courts.
